The little things mean
a lot.
All of the hotel staff that I interacted
with was absolutely fabulous during my stay. This includes the front
desk staff that checked me in with speed, efficiency and courtesies.
Thank You All.
The pool staff, who are actually employed
by Palm Pools Corporation
(Woodbridge, VA), provided a professional service at the same high level
of Marriott Employees. The Palm Pools web site is correct when they say
"... supplementing our local labor force with
additional international members who have proven to be enthusiastic,
courteous and diligent to their duties" and "...effective and qualified
pool lifeguards dedicated to your pool facility and its members".
Thank You Alexander and Nadia.

Checked in this day around
12:15 p.m.
-
I have room 1126. Great front
view with a right opening. They have a one-liter bottle of water available for consumption.
The cost is $4.50. I'd rather walk 15 feet to the soda machine and buy a
20 ounce bottle of soda for $1.50 (same price in 2002). Or drink free water from the spigot.
I actually purchased 2 bottles of water from the 7-11 for $2.00
-
Web TV keyboard is available.
-
Local Calls still $1.00
-
A good selection
of cable TV is
available. The do not have News Channel 8
from the local cable company.
-
The cotton swabs, q-tips, and
sewing kit are here. They also have Neutrogena shampoo,
conditioner, and lotion.
-
The toilet is broken.
At first it wouldn't flush and I had to play with the float device
to finally get it to move and start the water. Then it would
periodically flush to refill water the "leaked" out of the holder.

Sadly
Dunn's Toy and Hobby has closed. It is no longer in
business at the Worldgate Center. The store is vacant. I enjoyed
shopping at this store many times. Even just looking around
while window shopping. |

Started my boycott of the Chutzpah Deli at about 9:10 a.m. I was
treated rudely when I entered the store after the opening time of
9 a.m. but before the lights were turned on. I asked if they were
open, I was told, "no we're closed that's why the lights are off".
I asked then why is the door unlocked to which he replied, "good
question".
I decided to boycott the store and continued the
boycott until the Sunday morning of
May 29, 2005 when I
decided to go to Chutzpah for breakfast. |

Housekeeping had a major failure during
this stay. The room was almost perfect when I checked in. I say almost
because there is a big problem vacuuming behind furniture. I notice this
when moving the clock radio and I see dust and the torn part of a peanut
bag behind the end table. This is somewhat acceptable, but the big
problem I had was with the service during my full day in this room.
The first night I used the glasses provided on
the wet bar in the room for a drink of Coke® that I purchased at the 7-11®.
The following evening I retrieved a glass for another drink. Both glasses
were covered with a paper cover to keep dust out. The first glass had two
small black spots on the side. The second glass had dried cola on the bottom
of the glass. A round brown ring at the bottom that was still sticky. Was
this the same glass I had the night before? Was it only rinsed out real fast
leaving the cola on the bottom? This is not acceptable on any level. |
