| The Homestead Studio Suites Reston is an extended stay hotel that,
in my opinion, provides adequate rooms for a few nights. I usually stay
in this hotel for about two nights and find it adequate. If I was looking to
stay for longer period I would consider the TownePlace Suites by Marriott, such as
the Sterling or
Chantilly locations. I consider it adequate as the rooms are smaller than the TownePlace Suites, but certainly larger than a regular hotel room size. They have a nice mattress and pillows. They have a stove, microwave, refrigerator and freezer, pots and pans, plates and cups. Bathrooms have a shower, bathtub, sink and toilet, mirror, lights, hair dryer, and soap. No shampoo is provided. Less than basic cable and one premium channel. It's ok for an hour or so of watching TV. The reception in room 217 of channels 4 and a couple others was poor. Too much snow. Other channels were fine. |

| My biggest complaint is the
housekeeping at this hotel. Now when I last checked in to the Homestead
Studio Suites - Reston on
October 8, 2005 the carpet was spotless and the room looked very clean.
However under the sink was an trash can with the previous guest trash in it.
While there was no food, only paper products, I find this unacceptable.
There was a tissue in the trash. On February 14, 2004 there was a complete failure of the housekeeping department prior to my check in. This hotel is usually the lowest price hotel in the Reston area on hotwire and priceline. I can see why. Please not that despite my complaints I still stay here although I wish, during my trips, I stayed at another property like the Fairfield Inn Chantilly. |
