Herndon is a nice town in western
Fairfax County, Virginia. Located some 20 miles from Washington, D.C. and
3 miles from the Washington Dulles International Airport. Herndon, Virginia
is in the heart of the Dulles Corridor. In the center of town are older
homes with some historic buildings. This area has small shops and a few
eating establishments. As you leave the center of town you find what is
essentially a small city with many shopping centers, business parks, office
buildings, hotels, homes and office buildings. Adjacent to these establishment
along many of the side roads are homes and apartments of almost any price
range.
Herndon is one of about five municipalities
in Fairfax County. Some adjoining sections of the unincorporated area
of Fairfax County are commonly referred to as Herndon due to the U.S. Postal
Service delivery designation. For example, the Baja Fresh restaurant has
a Herndon address. Some people say it is in Herndon. I say it isn't. However, it
is included on my site because it is a nice restaurant and it serves the
people of Herndon. For the purposes of listing these establishments they
will be considered Herndon. |

businesses that should not be overlooked during a trip to this area. |

in Dulles, Chantilly, Reston and Sterling. Depending on the type of
accommodations and price range you are looking for these areas are a good
choice.

want to consider using an on line service. A stay at the Homestead Studio
Suites Dulles/Sterling, 8 minutes from the center of Herndon, booked at
the Travelocity.Com "Good Buy" rate is $49.95 for Sunday-Monday. Compared
to about $69 when booked through the hotel. And if the exact
