Courtyard Pittsburgh Airport

450 Cherrington Parkway

Coraopolis (Moon Township), PA 15108

2002 May 25 to 26

The Courtyard Pittsburgh Airport in Moon Township, PA has a Coraopolis, PA mailing address. This is a standard Courtyard property which says a lot about the property. Very clean rooms. In room coffee. Cable TV. Indoor Pool. Restaurant (limited weekend hours).

In fact, Courtyard overall seems to have better housekeeping than a certain Marriott property. Although my experience with Marriott in the past few years has only been with the Marriott Suites Washington Dulles. A property I like but the housekeeping needs to vacuum under the furniture.

The back section of this part of the hotel, the section with the additional floor, is pictured two images below this one. To the right is the main highway through Coraopolis and Moon, PA.

Stayed at this hotel as a result of a Marriott promotion. "Make two or three stays get a certificate for two weekend nights at a category 1-4 Marriott free". I have yet to use those certificates. They expire 12/31/02. Considering the Sunday night only rate at Marriott can be quite high these certificates can save me money on a one night stay.

I called from the parking lot of the Ramada and was quoted a rate of about $59.00. When I went to check in a few minutes later the front desk clerk gave me my quoted rate even though I should have been told $10 higher.

Below are some images of the property and the room I stayed in, 135. They were taken as a historical reference of my trip and vacation to western PA to remember the property and various aspects about my trip. Its amazing how the most insignificant image can bring back certain memories months and years later. Turns out the image was not so insignificant after all.

This side entrance faces the main highway that travels through Coraopolis and Moon, PA. It is the nearest entrance to room 135. See picture above for the rest of this side of the hotel.

I wonder if I still have some of these coins. My guess is yes.

View from the window of room 135.

Trash from my car. I felt better putting it in my room like this. If I put it in directly in their dumpster it could be considered illegal dumping. If a cop was driving by it could have got me a ticket.

This movie, Switchback, has been seen many times while in hotels. Take a look at previous viewings at this page.

Little fellow on the property of a nearby college 5/26/02.
