Expires 11:15 PM EST on December 07, 2005
Statement as of 3:08 PM EST on December 07, 2005
... Winter Storm Watch in effect from Thursday evening through
Friday morning...
A large cold high pressure system pushing in from the upper
Midwest will settle over the mid Atlantic region Thursday and
set the stage for our next round of inclement winter weather.
Double-barrelled low pressure will approach the region Thursday
night. One center will move northeast from the Tennessee Valley
and dissipate over western New York state Friday morning as a
second area of low pressure moves northeast from the eastern
Gulf of Mexico. This low will reach the North Carolina coast
early Friday and then intensify rapidly as it heads northeast
out to sea.
The snow associated with these systems will spread into the region
by midnight Thursday night and continue until midday Friday.
A Winter Storm Watch is issued when there is the potential of six
or more inches of snow in the 24 to 48 hour time frame that may
impact travel. With this in mind, the most recent data suggests
that an accumulation of 5 to 8 inches of snow is possible with
this event.
Continue to stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio all hazards or your
favorite media source for further information. Areas in the watch
may change. Also warnings could be posted sometime Thursday.

1 - 2 Sunday 12/4/2005 2:30 a.m.
It am snowing outside. Went to get a
package I saw a door driving to garage around midnight. Picked up box by
opening door and grabbing it. 5 minute later. Hey weren't they calling for
snow?
Looked through opaque glass. There it is!
You see it!
Snow on path. We're getting
first full snow fall right now.
Nice Snow Fall when It was
done of 2 Inches
Napped in car at foot of driveway in middle
of snow. Strange? I think not. Some people enjoy storms in a 'Florida Room'.
My car is my florida room. Recliner. Cup holder. Stereo. Right in the middle
of the action. You get the picture.
Later that morning met Roy as he was
walking the dogs, Kibbles and Bits.

Wednesday 11/16/2005 Whole Day
Warm in the 70's. Driving rain brought a cold front. Or
the other way around? Anyhow the temperature dropped about 30 degrees!
Hopefully cold is here to stay. No more 70's in November. Unless the 70's
means women will be spreading like during the Disco era. |
