| What a god awful visit to this theatre, the Clearview
Kinnelon 11 - Kinnelon, NJ. The movie viewing experience is 99 percent of
the grade and they failed. They did not provide me with a clear view at this
Clearview. I saw Love Actually on
November 23, 2003
at 3:40 in Cinema 9. This was shown in the building that houses cinemas 4 to
11. Cinemas 1 to 3 are in another building nearby.
The big problem was that the screen in this auditorium only showed about
90% of the movie, if that. Right off the bat when the opening credits show a
moving staring Emma Thomp and Alan Rick and not Emma Thompson and Alan
Rickman you know there's a problem. The image was projected over a larger
area than the white portion of the screen. Heads were cut off. Sides of
bodies were cut off. It was awful. Think of putting a good sized piece of
masking tape along the four sides of a television screen. Get the picture?
Well, not all of it, and that is a huge problem. I got up in the middle of
the movie and mentioned it to the ticket girl. She radioed it to the
projectionist but there were no changes at all.
Then at the end of the movie during the credits the music stops, the
lights come on and the picture is shut off. Right in the middle of the
credits where the song titles names and artist are mentioned. I complained to the
trash can guy and even mentioned the problem with the framing. He said I
should have reported it. I said, "I DID!". To that he had no response.
While I should have reported these problems to the manager it does not
change the fact that I had a god awful experience at this cinema. I don't
know if other auditoriums in this cinema have the same framing problem and I
won't be returning to find out. In addition this
experience has taught me that when you receive this kind of response from
the trash can guy, you need to dump the remainder of your pop corn on the
floor. I did not think of this until after I left.
As I recall (adding this sentence 11/18/2005) I received very good service
at the snack counter when I purchased my soda and popcorn. |
