| The AMC Neshaminy 24 is located at one end of
the Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It has 24
beautiful auditoriums, four of which are huge. All auditoriums have stadium style seating, comfortable seats
with an arm rest that lift to provide closer seating with the person next to
you. Great unobstructed view from all stadium seats.
I personally like to sit eye level with the center of the
screen in the center of the row. Of course my arrival time dictates where I
sit in the theatre. |

Soda and candy
purchased outside theatre. Courtesy cup held some butter for use when I got
to the middle of the bag. I consumed these while watching Freaky Friday in
Auditoriums 1 and 24. |
There are three concession locations, two as
you walk in to the theatre and one against the rear of the theatre near
auditoriums 7 to 18. Each stand, when open, has multiple employees to serve
us. There is always at least one open, with all three open during the
weekend and other busy times. Butter for the popcorn is self serve.
The concessions are very reasonably priced
for a movie theatre. A small popcorn is $2.75. Each size up is $1.00 more to
the giant size of $5.75. Soda is reasonable, too. During my last visit (3/8/2004) I notice that they set up candy
racks next to the concession lines. These racks hold the prepackaged snacks
like Whoppers, Milk Duds, M&M's, Chocolate covered raisins, plus many others.
These snacks are usually seen
under the glass at the stands. This is a great idea as I'm sure it increases
impulse purchases. An usher, who was stocking the
snack racks
one Saturday night, said he was told these racks are doing good. He said it
is increasing revenue by about 3 cents per patron. This really adds up in
volume. I wonder if he meant 3 percent. While 3 cents over 10,000
patrons is nice money, I would expect these racks to increase revenue and
"candy" profit exponentially. Over many visits I
have purchased from these racks: chocolate covered raisins, M&Ms with
Peanuts, and Milk Duds. |

The 'Moviewatcher' card allows you to earn
points for free snacks and tickets. Every ticket you buy earns two points.
For every ten points earned you get a free popcorn. The next ten points gets
you a small soda. At 30 points you get either a free ticket or a large
popcorn and large soda. You can upsize the free
items. Meaning if you have a free small popcorn coupon and you want a large
you get full credit for the cost of the small popcorn. ( Large $4.75 - Small
$2.75 = Actual cost $2.00 )

While the AMC 24 is a great theatre, it is my
second favorite theatre in "the area". Second only by a length. If you are near the Oxford Valley Mall may I
suggest visiting the United Artist Oxford Valley Stadium
10 in Langhorne?
However, like a race this theatre
could quickly become number 1. Despite the 50 cent admission increase of May
2004 they continue to offer reasonable concession prices (as theatres go),
great selection of movies, great service from most employees.

is what drove it down. It started out great. (Afflack was the bomb in
