Last great visit - June 18, 2006

Sorry to say that. I hope the fine employees found work. I loved them all. But the food went down hill over the years. This place holds fond memories from the late 90's and early zeros. But they blew it every now and again. Medium steak cooked well done. Too much fat on steak. Especially with the "knuckle cut" of the steak. The end cut of the meat that had much fat. Don't charge me full price, $19, for it. If a restaurant served bread and I order a slice, is it acceptable to get the end slice and pay full price. I think not!

Sadly I will miss this place.

But quite frankly I started missing the fine food served at Lone Star MANY YEARS BEFORE THEY CLOSED!

Very Good Service

Enjoyable Visit

(My comments immediately after visit, transcribed 10/16/5).

Waited on by C.C. Customer there who looked like Oliver Hardy. Drinks gave me a great buzz. Not drunk but feeling good.

My original waitress had to leave because of a reported family emergency. I then requested C.C. Now she is a great waitress and provides great service. But she told me that when she saw me come into restaurant, we exchanged pleasantries, she went into kitchen and said, "Lucky whoever gets him (me as a one top) he's really cool". BULL CRAP!

I DON'T BUY THAT FOR A SECOND.

Grilled Shrimp

Texas Rib-Eye

Half and Half - Mushrooms Onions

2005 March 30 Wednesday

Entree arrived after I took about five bites into my salad. Weather or not I order a medium rare steak, the meal should be paced better.

The first steak, an $18.99 9oz filet mignon, was too char grilled on the top to enjoy. It was also a sloppy looking piece of meat. The stick used to keep the bacon attached was still in it.  I told the waiter this and he sent it back. Second steak was cook properly inside and only slightly char grilled on the bottom.

Both pieces of meat looked bloated. Not like it was all steak. The second cut tasted very good.

While leaving Lone Star, I commented to myself that this restaurant has gone downhill. I only say that because there is inconsistency in the cooking of the steaks and the quality in the cut of meat. I have eaten here more than the number of times listed here. (Please see notes on subsequent visit of July 13, 2005. Excellent steak).

Great Steak. Cooked perfectly.

Medium Rare. Good Cut of Meat.

2004 May 26 Wednesday

Great service from Nicole D. Steak, an $18.00 9 oz filet mignon, was over cooked and a knuckle cut. I wanted Medium and received a medium well. Knuckle cut refers to the end of the side of beef. Since I occasionally eat medium well I did not return or complain. In the future I will request "no knuckle cut ends" and "medium rare". If not satisfied it will be returned or not eaten and not paid for.
