Hyannis and West Yarmouth
Hotels, Motels and Inns

This page will provide information on lodging establishments I have patronized while in the Hyannis and West Yarmouth sections of Cape Cod.
When heading to Hyannis and West Yarmouth I now know that there are many rooms available in the area. If I head up on a whim I may not even make a reservation. I don't mind walking in to see what rate a motel will charge. Frequently a walk in rate is much cheaper than a reservation a few days earlier. Now I won't try this on a holiday or mid-summer weekend or when arriving very late during the week. I'd rather drive up knowing that I have a room and where and a what price. During the week even in summer I can't see all of them selling out. I'm willing to roll the dice than lock myself in to a particular property and rate. If you go to look for room on the on-line travel services they don't list all motels in the Hyannis and West Yarmouth areas. Most properties don't permit on-line booking. I believe this would require them to set a few rooms aside for the travels service. This prevents the same room being sold by two different companies.
To get a good  rate I would try a combination of and on-line travel service, Hyannis and West Yarmouth motel listings, and calling the properties. I have had one property quote me a rate of $80.00 (summer/weekend) while another motel charged me $55.00. I don't mind the lower priced motels. I have only had one bad stay at one motel. I won't go back there.

Cape Holiday
(formerly Cape Cod Inn,
formerly Country Squire Motor Lodge)
 206 Main Street,
Hyannis

During my last visit in 2001 this motel had a completely renovated lobby. The rest of the property could very well have changed after that visit.

I stayed at this property the most. I looked for a room here first when in Hyannis. While the outside looked beat and worn. The rooms were always clean and comfortable. I could get very low rates here during the week. Weekend rates were higher, but for the most part less than all of the other motels.

This hotel may very well become my first choice during my 2002 visits to Cape Cod. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Very reasonably priced. A free continental breakfast is available (Although I usually get a great full breakfast at the "Heavenly #2 Restaurant" down the road.) Refrigerator in all rooms. Large outdoor and an indoor pool.

Roadway Motor Inn
1157 Route 132
Hyannis, MA 02601
Sadly this property is in the process of being demolished. As of 3-18-02 the only section left was the first half of the main building from the office to the outside stairs. The property is completely closed. A good inn is no more.

Tidewater Motor Lodge

I recall this was a very nice Inn with clean, comfortable rooms. The rate, while higher than the lowest motes in the area, was not too high. The have a 24 hour lobby staff for those who arrive late at night after work.

This is a very nice Motor Lodge (Inn) located on Route 28 in West Yarmouth. The drive, when there is traffic and a red light or two, is between five to ten  minutes to downtown Hyannis. The room I stayed in was very roomy. It had two double beds. A table with two chairs. Kept perfectly clean and was very comfortable. Bathroom was 'spic and span'. They have three pools on location, one of which is indoors with a nice hot tub. Coffee in the lobby. They also have coupons in the lobby for use at advertising restaurants for a good discount on food.

The very first Cape Cod hotel I slept in on my first night in Cape Cod. As I recall it was a nice room. Clean and comfortable. As this hotel has interior corridors, and my room was on the third floor,  it was a trek from my room to my car. This is only a minor inconvenience.
An inside and outdoor pool is available.
Very convenient to downtown Hyannis. One block from Main Street.

Spent one night here prior to flying to Martha's Vineyard. Nice motel located on Route 132, Iyanough Road. Room was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Motel staff was very nice and accommodating. Motel is about one mile from downtown Hyannis.
